Snow Day

We don't get snow very often and when we do we get a SNOW DAY!! Parker was so excited to not have to go to school. And I could barely get him to eat breakfast before he was out the door. Both he and Addison had a great time out in the cold. It stuck around for a few days and so they really got a few days to play in the snow. Photobucket Photobucket Parker was showing Addison how to do snow angels....Addison looked at him like he was crazy for laying down in the snow. It was hilarious!! Photobucket Kids are hoping for another snow day really soon!! Photobucket

Big Girl

So our little Kate has decided that she needs to get around like the big kids. I had to move her crib down the other day because we found her standing in it. She has started crawling and thinks she is big stuff. I cannot believe how fast time has gone. This is a recent photo of her. She loves to chew on socks, which is good news for her because her siblings think they belong anywhere but in the laundry or their drawer or even their feet. Before we know she is going to be walking around. I have to pinch myself and say, yes she is only 8 months old. I think she will be crawling before the end of the year.

North Pole Breakfast

We started a new tradition at our house this year. We started off December with a North Pole Breakfast. I got the idea here, so I really cannot take any credit for this. I just LOVED the idea and it has been fun so far. Our elves name is Buster and he brought us a great breakfast from Santa. He brought snow covered donuts, Reindeer Kisses (white chocolate chips) and peppermint sticks, and also glacier hot cocoa. They also got little notes from Buster and they loved reading those. The kids loved it and I think their favorite part was getting all this yummy stuff for breakfast. I would never do that. Thanks Buster. Luckily they have a mommy and she made them pancakes. There is a book that goes along with it. The Elf on the Shelf and he comes and goes every night. The kids can talk to him and send messages to Santa, which they have, and also they cannot touch him, or he loses his magic. And they have been pretty good about not touching him. I am actually surprised about it. Now every morning the kids watch for him and see the new places he sits and what he brings or the trouble he causes. It depends on how they have been acting.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We actually traveled this Thanksgiving. This is our first time not having our own Thanksgiving here in TX since we have lived here, which was weird, but we had a great time!! Jeff has a cousin in Oklahoma and it is only 4.5 hours away and so we went. We had such a great time!! I didn't take very many photos but the kids had a blast and we are so glad that we went. Here are a few photos from the weekend. We did go to an artillery museum and the kids loved that. Thanks Price and Angela for having us! We had a great time!11

And she's off...

So the dreaded (but exciting) day has come and we now have a mobile baby. She has started crawling and we are so excited about it!!! I keep finding crazy things in her hands. She has not mastered getting little things to her mouth, thank goodness. Parker and Addison are learning that if they leave it on the ground, she is going to find it.

I posted a video on faceboook (alot of you have already seen it).

Happy Halloween!!!

I am so excited that Halloween is finally here. I had so much fun and I love it every year. Kate looked adorable. Addison loved her costume. Now Parker owes me $35. Let me explain!! A month ago he told me wanted to be a ninja and so I ordered one online. I did not want to search Midland for one. He was so excited about it. It came and he tried it on and loved it. Now fast forward to the day before Halloween....."Mom, I don't want to be a ninja, I want to be a hockey player!!" I just about died!! So if you ask me, he owes me $35 for an unworn ninja costume. He would not even put on all his gear though. He just wore his jersey over his clothes....what a bum!!!! He totally cheated!!! We had a fun night! Got way too much candy and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! I took some photos of the kids before we left for the trunk or treat. We always have fun at the trunk or treat. We get to see all of our friends and not have to walk around town to see them all. I still wish that my kids could get the experience of going door to door, I have so many memories of this!!! But what do you do?? Here is a pic of all of us

And my little trick or treaters!!
This is the best of them all....Parker was not cooperating. (why is it the oldest would not cooperate??)

Pumpkin Carving

I just love all of the things you do around Halloween. We had a church activity and we all brought pumpkins and carved them and they had games for the kids. The kids had a great time playing the games. Parker was so excited to carve the pumpkin. He had the most perfect stencil picked out and he knew what he wanted to do. Then he helped make the hole in the top. He looked inside and said forget about it. But he still wanted me or Jeff to carve the pumpkin with what he wanted. And let me tell you...it was a hard picture. On a scale from 1 to 10 it was probably an 8. More than I could do. So he left us there with the pumpkin and played with his friends. I was holding Kate in a pack on my belly and didn't feel it would work to carve it, so it was up to Jeff. And this is what he got. Not exactly as planned.

But the very next day. We sat down and talked about his design and came up with a much better one. He liked how it turned out. I think it turned out cute. Moral of the story...don't let Jeff carve your pumpkin. Just so you know though, Jeff was quite proud of that pumpkin.

Hockey Season begins

So Hockey season begins...and we were only a half hour late. Parker was so excited for his game and the good mom that I am he was a half hour late because I wrote down the game wrong. He was still able to play and he had a great time. And that is all that matters. SO now every Saturday morning we spend our time on the ice! Go Bruins!!! Here are a few pics!!

Apple Orchard Time

We planned months in advance to go to the Orchard in Lubbock in October and the kids counted down the days until we got to go. The day we go and what happens?? It rains...and not just a little rain, it rained really bad. We did not want to disappoint the kids and so we went anyway and said...."Hey, we will have some fun in the rain!!" The kids were so excited.

We had a blast!! It was not crowded (unlike last time we went) and we picked and picked and picked apples. Parker was sure he got every apple on the tree and Addison would pick them along the way. It was funny. Kate loved holding the apples. And then she would drop them.

And here come all the pictures. And yes, Kate is in pjs...I forgot to put in a onsie. At least she was warm.
