Our Big 2nd Grader

I cannot believe that Parker is in 2nd grade now. He is learning so much. I swear just yesterday he was starting preschool. Boy how time flies. He was kind of torn to go back to school. He was WAAAYYYY excited to see his friends. He has most of the same kids in his class, but on the other hand he was not looking forward to all the school work. What is funny is that he does not sleep in, EVER. And the first day of school is the only day all summer that he slept in. What a funny kid. I asked him about it and he, "because I can"

We went and dropped off Parker at school and Addison was so excited to go inside. Then she got mad when we didn't stay. Then we got to the car and she cried. She kept telling me she was sad, her best friend was leaving her. She did get better throughout the day, but mostly she was sad. When the time came to go and get him she was grinning from ear to ear.

We survived our first home day. Trying to get back on schedule is always a struggle. We did get it all done, but it took us until 4:30pm. He has history this year and is really struggling with it. His first test is tomorrow and he is really nervous about it. I am sure it is just going to take some getting used to. Addison just loved school today. I bought her a workbook to work on while Parker is doing work. She did great and it kept her busy and out of trouble. We may need more than one. She did not want to stop. She was a bit of a distraction today though. Parker was trying to spread his knowledge on everything he knew about what she was learning.

Here's to another successful year!!!!

That is so cute! It is really sad that Staci hasn't started History yet and she will be in the 4th grade. I guess that is what we get here in Idaho. Can't wait to get better education in the future.
