TGIF
Don't you love that face, her popcorn just ran out. This little girl will do anything for popcorn.
1. It was a dark and stormy night, and we settled in by the fire and watched a good movie..
2. He dropped them, so I offered to take the books myself.
3. Rushing out, I forgot the wipes....done this way too many times. (how do they always find a way out of my bag??).
4. Are you scared...I think I heard a howl!
5. Shhhh... I said to the crazy monkeys that inhabit this place.
6. Mom give me something good to eat!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to date night without Parker, haven't found sitter for Addy, tomorrow my plans include Trick or Treating with a bumblebee and Aniken Skywalker and Sunday, I want to relax!
And the winner is....
We had a great ward activity the other night. It was our annual pumpkin carving. This year we added some new things. A cake walk, which was a huge hit, and also the donut on the string. I am sad that I was stuck putting donuts on strings all night and didn't get to take any photos. I took it out once and then only took one photo and didn't turn out well. But a friend of mine, thanks Delcie, took some great photos of a donut eating contest. I think we are all known as the donut divas now....it was so much fun. We each have a baby that is the same age and so we all held our babies and ate our donuts. I think it is funny to look at the kids faces, they are probably wondering what is going on.
That's right....I won. I do have to say though that I did watch a lot of people eat donuts that night and so I had some great examples to follow. I was actually shocked that I won. Thanks ladies for the fun!! It was just what I needed!!

A little bit of bragging...
I just have to brag about my sis for a moment. First off she is the best. She is a wonderful mother of three and she is 8 months pregnant. Her husband is a marine and they just moved back from Okinawa and she has been living with family in UT until her hubby is finished with his training. (he is going to be a marine recruiter) They will move to Pocatello after that. She not only has been playing single mom, and living a crazy life, but she also took time out of her busy schedule to make me the cutest Halloween decoration. She knows how much I love Halloween and was so nice to make this for me. The picture does not do it justice. There is glitter paint all over it and it glistens. I LOVE IT! Thanks Tiff!! You are the best sister!! I couldn't ask for a better sister and best friend. Love you!!

She speaks
I know that she is growing up when she starts to talk. She has said mama and dada for a while now but nothing else. But this last week she said....and the drum roll please....WHOA!! Yep that is her first word. I think it is hilarious, but she says it all the time. She also says something that sounds like , what is that?? waitat.....something like that. I ask her that all the time and so I am sure she is just copying me. There is no baby at our house anymore...she is officially a toddler. Time sure does fly fast.

FiddleSticks Farms
We went to Fiddlesticks Farms. It was so much fun!! They had a huge corn maze, (which was supposed to take 35-40 minutes and Jeff memorized the map and we did it in 15 minutes, a record), pumpkin patch, huge slides, mining for stones (Parker's favorite part), corn popper, goats, hay rides....and more. The kids had a blast and Parker is already talking about next year.
(I already scrapbooked it and so you get to see that instead of just photos...aren't you so lucky!!!)

Awards Ceremony
Parker has been doing really well at school. He (Or should I say, we) survived the first 7 weeks of school. Every six weeks of school they give out awards to the kids. Parker did really well and earned perfect attendance and also the Triple A award. (That stands for Academic, Attendance, and Attitude). His teacher said that he is great in class and is glad to have him. He was so excited to earn this award. He was so cute. He was just beaming. It was fun to go and see him at school.

Circus
Parker has been asking since we moved to Midland when we could go to the circus. We finally did it. We had lots of fun. Addison loved the elephants, she would point at them and then smile. Parker was kind of disappointed because they didn't have clowns. He did the like the guy that was climbing on chairs and then balanced on top of them. He did this on like 6 or 7 chairs. It was pretty impressive. Not sure if we will go again. I had never been and so the kid inside wanted to go as well. The picture of the 3 of us is not very good. Parker was upset that we ran out of cash and they didn't have an ATM and he couldn't ride the elephant and then the lady did not know much about cameras. But oh well what do you do???

Addison's 1 year photos
I finally got around to getting these done today. I know that she is a little older now, but it's alright. She is hard to take photos of, she does not hold still. Lots of bad ones..but I got a few. I think that using Parker's rocking chair was the key. She had somewhere to sit. Grandparents let me know which one you want. Also the size that you want....thanks!!!

Fall Festival
We went to the Fall Festival yesterday. The kids had fun. They sure loved their balloon animals. Parker got a sword and Addison got the cutest little pink dog. And they also liked dressing up. Addison was so cute in her costume. She loved to walk around the library in it. Parker wanted to be the same thing he was last year. There was lots for them to do. There was face painting, popcorn, trick or treating, festival type games, and a craft. It was fun to get out of the house and do something fun!!
"Mom, are you sure I am going to be alright??"
Yes that is Parker in the baby swing. He LOVES to swing but has not learned how to use a big boy swing. I have been trying since we moved to Texas (that is over 2 years) and he just does not seem interested. Yesterday we went to the park with our friends the Nelsons and all the kids wanted to swing. (She has three little boys) So we put the babies in a baby swing one of her other boys in the other baby swing (we made Parker get out) Then we finally convinced Parker to try the big boy swing. His best friend (according to Parker) was in one and so it took a bunch of convincing but we finally convinced him to try it out and he wouldn't have to pump his legs I would just do underdogs. He said he would and things were going great. But then I am not sure what happened. I didn't do anything different than the time before, but I did the underdog and looked back and there was Parker in mid air falling on the cement (it just happened that the cement was a wall around the swings) and he scraped his legs along that and then his belly fell on the step. I couldn't do anything to stop it. It was like slow motion. This cut our time at the park short and we had to go home. Parker told me that he was afraid of falling off the swing and that is why he had never wanted to go on the big swing before. I felt bad for the kid. His scrapes are pretty bad. He might be scarred for life and may not ever get back into a big swing. His only question is "Mom, are you sure I am going to be alright??" He is very concerned about it and won't wear pants. We just hope he will get back on a swing someday!!

Our Model Knight
Parker was picked by his teacher and the librarian as their classes "Model Knight." They are the outstanding student and only a few get picked a year. He was very excited. That meant that he got to eat lunch in the library and I was able to come and eat with him. I brought one of his favorites...SUBWAY!! He was excited. We are happy that he is such a good student and is loving school!! Congratulations Parker!!

Proud Owner
We have always had a hard getting Parker to keep his room clean. He loved to stuff everything under his bed, on his couch and in his closet. (I am sure like any other kid does) He would come and tell us his room was clean. I asked if there was anything on the floor and he would always say no. He forgot to mention that he put it all in his closet and under his bed. He has been asked for this double lightsaber that he saw on television (gotta love all those darn commercials). I made a deal with him and said that if he keeps his room clean for 2 week he could have that lightsaber. He said okay I can do that. Surprisingly enough he did keep it clean and has continued to keep it clean and he is a very proud owner of that lightsaber. Now he keeps telling that he would like this and that and every other toy on the planet and all he has to do is keep his room clean. I just laughed at him, I don't think he understood why.

SOLD!!
I am so excited that we finally sold our old car. It is about time. We finally only have one car. (Jeff's truck is not his, it is a work vehicle but he can use it for personal reasons.) I felt like the other ones were going to waste. It is weird though, I feel like a piece of me is gone. That was our first car we ever purchased and it holds a place in my heart. Parker loved that car and was not happy to see it go. We had lots of good times in that car and we are happy that someone can use it!!

Like when I was a kid
My dad has always had a really good garden. He has 5 gallon buckets of tomatoes and his squash are huge. When I was younger my dad would buy a bushel of corn and we would steam that and then get some fresh garden tomatoes and cut those up and then sprinkle them with salt. And that was dinner. YUMMY!!!! I feel like it was yesterday. Now that I am grown I have tried the garden thing and we have quite the tomatoes. We are always eating cherry ones. Well at least me and Parker are, Jeff hates them. But we also have quite the plant with large tomatoes. For lunch today I had some (of course they were sprinkled with salt, just like when I was a kid) and they were yummy. It took be back a few years. Then I was quickly brought back to reality when Addison threw her juice at me. But it was a nice moment and brought back lots of memories. I sure do miss the good old days!!
